Will I Get Sick?

  • Seasickness is very rare on ships as large as ours. All our ships are equipped with stabilizers which are designed to keep them smooth and steady in the water. If you should feel queasy, medicine is available from your cabin steward, the Information Desk or from the doctor.

What About Medications?

  • Please carry your required medication in your pocket or purse so that it will be available when needed. Checked luggage may not be accessible at all times. If you're using any prescription drugs, vitamins or other medication on a regular basis, you should bring an adequate supply with you since these may not be readily available either aboard ship or in our ports of call. Commonly used medications may be purchased at the office of the ship's doctor.

How Tipping Works

  • How much you tip is purely a personal matter and completely up to you. However, we do have many guests who ask for some guidelines in regard to what is appropriate. We suggest the following gratuities for general information only. Gratuities are customarily given the last evening of your cruise. If you have any further questions, the Purser or Cruise Director will be glad to help you.

    - Dining Room Waiter: $3.50 per person/per day
    - Dining Room Busboy: $2.00 per person/per day
    - Dining Room Maitre d': $0.35 per person/per day
    - Dining Room Head Waiter: $0.15 per person/per day
    - Room Steward: $3.50 per person/per day

Other personnel, such as Bar Waiters, Bellboys and Deck Stewards maybe tipped as service is rendered. 15% of the bill is automatically added to Sail & Sign beverage purchases which you may adjust appropriate to the service received. Gratuities can be prepaid to Carnival at time of booking or anytime up to two weeks prior to sailing. These guests will receive three gratuity coupons per booking with their cruise documents: one for the Dining Room Waiter; one for the Dining Room Busboy; and one for the Room Steward.

Doctor on Board?

  • Yes, a qualified physician and nurse from our medical staff are on call 24 hours a day. A professional fee will be charged. If you should come down with a contagious disease, or even suspect a contagious disease, it is compulsory that you report it to the ship's doctor for the safety of everyone on board. Should you be on any medication, or want the medical staff to be aware of any special needs, please contact our infirmary. This will ensure they will be prepared should you need assistance. Our doctors are independent contractors.

What Should I Pack?

  • The first thing to remember is that you're on vacation and you are aboard one of our "Fun Ships" to have a good time. The second thing to remember is to travel light. If you keep those two things in mind, you should do just fine.

Casual attire and resort wear is the order of the day both on board and in port. Shorts, slacks, sundresses, blouses, etc., are in line for women. Clothing for men is just as casual. You should bring a pair of rubber-soled sandals or sneakers to wear on deck and a pair of good walking shoes. You might also want to consider bringing along a sweater or jacket for cool evenings and inexpensive rain gear in case of a sudden shower. Women may want to bring along a hat or scarf. You'll have a chance to dress up on two nights during 7 day or longer cruises (one night on shorter cruises) for the Captain's Cocktail Party and the Gala Farewell Dinner. On the other evenings you can dress casually for dinner.

For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido Restaurants are open nightly (with the exception of the last evening of the cruise), and have a casual dress code. Formal Wear: tuxedo; suit and tie; sport coat, tie and slacks; evening gown; cocktail dress; pantsuit Casual Resort Wear: sport shirts and slacks; dresses; skirts; pantsuit; Capri pants NOTE: Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops and bathing attire are not permitted in the Dining Room during dinner.
